SCHOOL MOBILITY PLAN, DUBLIN 6

We developed a Mobility Plan for St Louis Primary School in Rathmines, Dublin 6 to look at ways to tackle ongoing road safety issues around the school. We surveyed parents about their travel patterns and the school's Green Schools committee carried out a walkability audit of the streets around the schools.

Arising from that the children designed posters with their own opinions and ideas on how to make getting to school safer and more enjoyable for everyone. We also proposed some street design interventions which have received the support of local councillors in Dublin City Council.

It is hoped that the Mobility Plan can be used to inform improvements to the public realm in the environs of the school which will also be of benefit to the wider community in Rathmines.
