Ciarán Ferrie
BSc (Arch) BArch MSc MRIAI MCIHT
Ciarán is an architect and transport planner with almost three decades of experience and has designed projects across the world from New York to Tbilisi and from Moscow to Sydney. He founded Ciarán Ferrie Architects in 2010 as an independent architectural consultancy practice. He has an established record in the successful delivery of projects in multiple sectors including Urban Design, Education, Residential , Hospitality and Commercial.
Ciarán has been an advocate for sustainable modes of transport and liveable cities for many years and contributes regularly on radio, television, print media and social media. His writings on urbanism and sustainable transport have been published by the Irish Examiner, Architecture Ireland, TYPE.ie and IrishCycle.com.
In 2023 he completed a Masters in Sustainable Transport and Mobility at Technological University Dublin, graduating with first class honours. He has been invited to speak on sustainable transport by Vélo-City (the international cycling conference), the All-Ireland Architecture Research Group (A-IARG) and the Irish Transport Research Network (ITRN). He is a founding member of the cycling advocacy group,
I BIKE Dublin and has given evidence on their behalf at both the Transport and Justice Committees of the Oireachtas.
Ciarán is an RIAI registered architect, accredited Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) and member of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation. He is a founding member and director of
Fumbally Exchange, a not-for-profit co-working community headquartered in Blackpitts, Dublin 8. He sits on the board of
Ava Housing, a not-for-profit scheme providing an alternative housing solution for older homeowners in Ireland.
